Astrology Transits for January 2026

Happy New Year and a warm welcome to the skies of 2026!

I hope you have had a wonderful new year and are feeling ready for 2026

There’s lots of strong transits to begin the year so let’s get in to it!

First of all, although not part of the newsletter today, the next eclipse season is just around the corned from early Feb to mid-Mar 2026

These two months are likely very unsettled and I would be cautious to jump in to too much during these times. Far better to wait until late April which is after the vedic new year period

Before we get to the eclipses, we have the sky for January…

The sky is currently focused upon a conjunction of 4 planets that are moving closely together - Sun, Mars, Mercury and Venus

This combination is inherently positive and focuses the energies into the place of the sky where they are moving - Capricorn. Capricorn is a moving Earth sign and indicates movement towards material objectives. These weeks are very favourable for getting material goals in place for the year before the confusion of eclipse season lands in February.

Monday, January 19th 

Main Event: New Moon in Uttarashadha

This month the New Moon lands in the constellation of mastery, Uttarashadha. If ever there was a time to start learning a new skill or developing your mastery of something to another level, then this is the time. Mars combining with Sun here is especially strong and Mars can give extra motivation and determination to complete what you start at this time.

Tuesday, January 20th 

Main Event: Saturn re-enters Uttara Bhadra pada constellation

Saturn’s movement is very important over the coming months. Today Saturn again enters his own constellation of Uttara Bhadra pada giving a message that it’s time to re-focus your energies on what you are seeking to achieve and work on in the coming months.

Saturn also is touching the previous eclipse point this month and bringing completion to issues that were surfacing back in August-September 2025.

Important timings going forward for Saturn are early April where a Mars/Saturn conjunction likely brings excessive tension to the skies.

And middle of May where Saturn reaches the mid-point of Pisces where his actions and influence tend to accelerate.

The second half of the year will have a strong signature of Saturn compelling you to focus on the work you need to do, which combines with a very fast moving and strong Jupiter adding support.

With these two large planets both in synergy and having strong influence a lot of things will move and shift in the second half of the year.

Sunday, January 25th 

Main Event: Sun, Mercury and Venus in Sravan constellation

Sravan relates to wisdom and reflection, so now is a perfect time to pause, contemplate and align to your deeper wisdom in relation to the action plan that you have likely been nudged to establish over the last weeks.

Sravan asks for patience, consistency and a sense of what has inherent deeper value to you. These few weeks of Sun in Sravan is a perfect moment to settle yourself before the impending eclipse fluctuations that are just around the corner.

Thursday, January 29th 

Main Event: Fasting for the 11th day of increasing Moon

Monday, February 2nd  

Main Event: Full Moon in Ashresha constellation

Full Moon is about completion and Ashresha holds a magnetic seductive quality. Full Moon here asks you what is that you are fully committed to and compelled to immerse yourself in. It also asks what you are safe being seen completely immersed in to the point of sharing in vulnerability your passion about it.

Expect heightened emotions around this Full Moon in Cancer and inner desires amplified. It’s time to ask yourself, what do you really need to complete or accomplish now? What is asking to be finished off? And what emotional blocks are present to look at and release in relation to those things?

This year is looking like a momentous one from an astrology perspective and I would highly recommend having a look at how the transits will impact your personal chart if you haven’t checked for a while.
