Hi ,It's time to look at the cosmic transits coming up for February 2025. This month has the potential for some unexpected events and mid-month we start to really feel the eclipse energies of the powerful eclipses that are coming in March. It's a great time for transformation especially in the areas of life that are reflected in Virgo and Pisces in your chart and the house themes indicated therein. I'll be sending out a more in depth explanation of the coming eclipses in a few weeks. Get in touch if you'd like a reading to help prepare for this transformational time.
Tuesday, February 4th
Main Event: Jupiter turns Direct in Taurus
Jupiter has been retrograde since November and is now standing still and turning forwards. It's important to give Jupiter a good week to start to get going again, which means themes around Jupiter are likely slow going at this particular time. Jupiter will pick up pace through the coming months, so patience around Jupiter themes will be rewarded.
Friday, February 7th
Main Event: Sun enters Dhanistha constellation
Dhanistha constellation is all about exposing, revealing and showing to others. The next fortnight with the Sun here will be very good for marketing and revealing what you have to offer. It's a great time for sharing, product launches, meetings with others where things are revealed or discussed. Mercury joins the Sun here in Dhanistha the following day on the 8th and Mercury is particularly good in relation to Dhanistha's marketing and communication themes.
Saturday, February 8th
Main Event: Fasting for the 11th day of the increasing Moon
Sunday, February 9th
Main Event: Muliple planets in second pada of their lunar constellation (until 12th Feb)
The lunar constellations are divided into 4 parts which relate to the four common goals of life as seen in Vedic culture, duty, wealth, enjoyment and renunciation. The second pada relates to wealth and with many planets in that part of their lunar constellation for the coming few days it is an excellent time for activities in relation to making money, growing wealth, investing and expanding resources.
Tuesday, February 11th
Main Event: Mercury enters Aquarius
Mercury joins Saturn in Aquarius and this gives an impetus to start new projects of a humanitarian or philanthropic nature. Mercury here is compelled by Saturn to endeavour to do something meaningful for others. Sometimes Mercury finds Saturn challenging and it's likely a difficult transit for Gemini and Virgo ascendent or Moon, as Saturn can tend to slow things down and make life a bit more uncomfortable. This part of the sky is generally not easy for Mercury and he will go to a position of weakness in Pisces and retrograde too in the coming months. A good time to have patience and wait out the unsettled transits.
Thursday, February 13th
Main Event: Sun changes sign to Aquarius, Full Moon in Ashresha constellation
Sun changes sign on the Full Moon this month. This is definitely a day to take it as easy as possible. Sun joins Saturn in Aquarius for the next month so be careful about power themes and the wrestle for who is in control in any situation. The Full Moon is in Ashresha which amplifies themes of attraction and seduction for the coming fortnight. In a negative context this can be experienced as control and manipulation. In a positive light Ashresha is about the inspiration to pursue what one is really enthusiastic about and invitation to be inspired and attracted by others to go into that arena. Contracts and agreements need to be handled carefully over the coming fortnight until New Moon, as Ashresha's energies make contracts binding and hard to cancel once they have been entered into.
Sunday, February 16th
Main Event: Moon/Ketu conjunction
Moon crossing Ketu each month often brings a day of confusion and uncertainty and is usually not a good day for important decision making.
Wednesday, February 19th
Main Event: Sun enters Shatabhishak constellation
Shatabhishak is a magical constellation. The Sun is challenged in this position as it calls for a radical approach and the Sun prefers the expected rather than the unexpected. New Moon lands here in 5 days and these magical energies will act through the next month. As the Sun is connected to life purpose, this is often a time of year where life purpose gets a shake up and we reassess the direction we are going in. Saturn's presence in the sign of Aquarius amplifies the potential for the shake up.
Monday, February 24th
Main Event: Fasting for the 11th day of the waning Moon, Mars turns Direct in Gemini
Mars has been retrograde for some weeks and is now turning around in Gemini. This is a welcome return of more drive and determination to face the challenges of life. Mars will be in a better mood until he re-enters Cancer on April 3rd. Fortunately that covers the coming eclipses in March and Mars will help us all to move through that transition.
Wednesday, February 26th
Main Event: Shivaratri, Mercury/Saturn conjunction
Shivaratri is the festival day celebrating the advent of Lord Shiva. A connection to Shiva is very beneficial as he is considered the partner of the material energy and is expert in navigating the charms and challenges of this world. Mercury's challenges with Saturn are at their peak at this moment while they are conjunct. This peak only lasts a few days as Mercury swiftly moves on into Pisces.
Friday, February 28th
Main Event: New Moon in Shatabhishak constellation, Mercury enters Pisces, Sun/Moon/Saturn conjunction
Shatabhishak is the constellation of magic and exploring the impossible. This is a great month to push your boundaries and chase your dreams. This constellation is connected to Rahu, whose very nature is to disregard excuses and reasons in pursuit of doing the impossible. The energies this month will likely bring out your eccentric side and people may have a more difficult time connecting to you. It's better to be who you are and find those who accept you in that way and this time encourages us to step into that path. Shatabhishak also has a connection to health and healing, especially the more difficult health conditions. This month could bring unexpected options or solutions for health situations.Mercury in Pisces is considered weak in this position where his calculating tendency is not as effective. During this time we can find our plans or strategies don't work as well and there is the tendency to try different things or start in new directions. Venus is also in Pisces and strong here, so in a sense it is strength of heart and weakness of head/mind. So time to open the heart and act more from the feeling centre than from the calculating mind. Sun and Saturn are considered enemies in Vedic cosmology and each year Sun is closely aligned with Saturn for about 10 days. This is a time when conflict around power and control themes can arise. With the conjunction in Aquarius, this indicates a moment for the death of the ego, and the potential to break away from egoic patterns. Saturn is very keen to knock the Sun off his throne and bring him down to an equal standing with everyone else. Sun represents ego and the thrones we create for ourselves and our sense of self importance. The healthy outcome of this transit is to discover the true ego that is behind the false external ego, where we can stand in our true selves and walk our true path.
