Hi ,As we begin a new chapter with 2025, first of all I'd like to wish you a Happy New Year and best wishes for the year ahead. 2025 is in general a 9 year of completion and realisation. The last one was in 2016 so you can look back at that time for echoes of the themes coming up. I feel very blessed and fortunate to share the Vedic wisdom as it applies to each individual on their journey in this life and beyond. I'm looking forward to continuing this work into 2025 and many more years to come. As we complete 2024 it's great to take a moment and look back at what has been a big year for many. There are many 'New Years' depending upon which calendar you are following and 1st January holds an important place as it is acknowledged and followed by so many. This year the New Moon landed on New Year's Eve enhancing the themes of renewal on these days. In general 2025 sees a stormy beginning, a productive middle and a slowed down and slightly stifled finale. I'll send out more info on the Planner, the new format, what's been updated with it and how it can help you in the next few days. And of course as the new month begins, it's time to look at the transits for January 2025 and what they will bring us. Saturn is again in Purva Bhadrapada constellation for the coming weeks encouraging us to do rituals and seek out the deeper shifts within ourselves. Those with Moon in Purva Bhadrapada or other planets there will again feel the pressure of Saturn in their lives. The key to Saturn is to face the challenges he presents with a smile and a sense of responsibility. This helps move what needs to move more easily.The main themes of January transit wise are Mercury transiting through Sagittarius,  and the Venus/Saturn conjunction in Aquarius. Mercury invites us to explore our dharma and true path in life as he transits through Sagittarius in the coming few weeks. It's a good time to try new directions in this area of life if you feel called to. The coming weeks puts some pressure on the natural Venus themes of love, relationships and partnerships as Venus will be conjunct with Saturn for most of January. It's good to be cautious and pragmatic in these areas with a willingness to put in the work where necessary. The 17th-19th is especially strong in this area as the Moon sits opposite in Leo. Venus moves away from Saturn's gaze on the 28th January.

Saturday, January 11th 

Main Event: Sun enters Uttara Ashadha constellation, Intention setting day for the year ahead

The attention of the Sun and the cosmos shifts to Uttara Ashadha for the next few weeks which is the Sun's own constellation. This constellation is about achievement and mastery. This is an excellent time to begin the journey with a new skill or to spend more time mastering your craft.There are a lot of Lunar fertility and creativity energies flowing today along with the 11th day of January which is an energetic portal of creativity and beginnings. This is good day to set intentions for the year ahead. 

Tuesday, January 14th 

Main Event: Sun enters Capricorn, Full Moon in Punarvasu constellation 

Punarvasu is about transformation and renewal. The Full Moon here encourages us to make changes and refresh our lives where things have become a bit stuck or stale.Sun in Capricorn has an inherent productive and practical energy, combining with the moving state and Earth element of Capricorn and with its position as the natural 10th sign connected to achievement. The coming four weeks with the Sun in Capricorn seeks to connect our life purpose and goals to material and practical achievements. This can often look like an awareness of what needs to happen to achieve what we want. Then it's a matter of identifying obstacles and weaknesses that are needing to be resolved. 

Wednesday, January 15th 

Main Event: Moon/Mars conjunction in Cancer 

This combination can amplify the general frustration that is felt with Mars moving through Cancer. Conflict comes more easily at this time and it's important to communicate clearly and gently on these few days. 

Friday, January 17th  

Main Event: Venus/Saturn close conjunction with Moon opposite, exact conjunction on 19th 

The next few days sees the strongest days of the Venus/Saturn combination mentioned above as the Moon joins the same axis in the sky.

Sunday, January 19th  

Main Event: Moon/Ketu conjunction 

With Moon in Virgo with Ketu it's a day where confusion can be increased and a sense of feeling stuck and frustrated with Saturn's aspect as well. A good day to take it a bit easy until the Moon moves on. 

Tuesday, January 21st  

Main Event: Mars enters Gemini, Mars changes sign on Tuesday 

It's good to take it a bit easier on Tuesdays as Mars moves retrograde but especially so on this day as Mars changes sign back into Gemini.

Saturday, January 25th  

Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of decreasing Moon, Mercury enters Capricorn, Sun enters Sravan constellation 

Mercury is challenged in Capricorn. Are his bright ideas going to pass the practical test of Capricorn and turn into measurable results. It's time to put your ideas to the test. The Sun moves to Sravan today and the focus comes to wisdom, tradition, ancient knowledge, higher guidance and higher guardians. It's a great time to honour these past traditions we are connected to and apply these wise teachings more consciously in life. The Sun here gives an opportunity to explore these themes more deeply and perhaps branch into new traditions or go deeper into what is already resonating for you. 

Tuesday, January 28th  

Main Event: Venus enters Pisces 

Venus is very happy in Pisces and joins his friend Rahu for the coming weeks. This is likely a time where the relationship and partnership themes that Saturn has put pressure on over the last weeks will find a release and harmony. 

Wednesday, January 29th  

Main Event: New Moon in Sravan constellation 

Sravan is about wisdom, tradition and teaching that wisdom to others. This month is excellent for study, learning, exploring old wisdom, reading books and doing research. Sravan helps us to have deep insights into the information that we process. Sravan also encourages us to seek like-minded people to share and discuss with, in order to bring these teachings alive in the present.
