Hi ,It's time to look at the cosmic influences for November 2024. The eclipse season has passed and things are looking more settled into the end of the year. As mentioned last month this month the New Moon has landed in Swati constellation. Swati is an outlier and tends to bring the unexpected. It has a lot of wind/air element and is generally quite unstable. Swati is about being an individual and doing things differently. It is quite radical in nature and encourages us to push our boundaries. The Sun is not very favourable here and it is likely a better time after November 7th to make progress with this lunar month.I’ll be having a solar return (birthday) on November 9th and I am currently in Asia to improve the year chart that lands this year. Relocating can definitely shift the fortunes of the year ahead and to do it you need to move about a week before the birthday. Essentially the travel is East-West more then North-South. Get in touch if you’d like to know where best to be on your next birthday and I can calculate it for you. Generally I recommend a yearly reading of your year’s charts with enough time before your birthday that if there is an improvement to the year based upon travel, then you can make the arrangements.
Thursday, November 7th
Main Event: Venus enters Sagittarius, Sun enters Vishakha constellation
The Sun has been slowly moving through its weakest part of the sky and today marks the day of the Sun starting to regain his strength. There is a certain divinity and optimism that comes as the Sun enters Jupiter’s constellation Vishakha where he will be for the coming fortnight. Vishakha is an energy of order and structure, and bringing together as well as of growth and expansion. It is co-ruled by Indra, so there are masculine authority themes present, but it is also holding a higher divine energy of higher purpose and reason for what we do and why we do it. With Vishakha we can find ourselves making new connections that may at first seem unexpected but as time passes they show themselves to be beneficial. Venus is now in Sagittarius which creates an exchange with Jupiter as Jupiter is in Venus’ sign Taurus, while Venus is in Jupiter’s sign of Sagittarius. This mutual exchange tends to benefit both and will help everyone. These two planets are benefic and supportive so we can expect a postive effect from this transit over the coming weeks. Venus will be especially good in his own constellation of Purvashadha from November 18th up to November 29th when networking and connecting to groups will likely be very positive.
Tuesday, November 12th
Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of the increasing Moon, Ketu enters Uttara Phalguni, Mercury enters Jyestha, Moon between Rahu/Saturn
Today and tomorrow are days to be a bit careful as the Moon moves in between Saturn and Rahu. We can easily find our minds getting caught in negativity over these days. Best to take a step back and let the transit pass. Mercury entering Jyestha constellation really amplifies the analytical energies of Mercury. If something needs scrutinising or deep study, particularly to assess its value and whether to keep it or not, the coming weeks are a good time for that until Mercury enters Sagittarius on January 4th. Ketu changes constellation about every 8 months and is now leaving Hasta and entering into Uttara Phalguni. If you have any planets in this constellation they can be affected by Ketu. Ketu’s effect tends to be one of confusion, doubt, cloudiness, blockage and limitation. Ketu also brings up past issues if there are any around that area of the chart. In this position, Ketu can definitely block the flow of abundance and block the natural feminine within all of us from feeling at ease. The best way to deal with the nodes is awareness, mindfulness and illumination to cut through their shadowy nature.
Saturday, November 16th
Main Event: Full Moon in Kritika constellation, Saturn turns Direct in Aquarius, Sun changes sign to Scorpio
Kritika is an energy of fighting, cutting and war. This is an antagonistic energy in relation to Swati, like the clipping of the wings of the bird that seeks to fly. Kritika is a great energy for breaking through limitations and cutting away that which needs to be cut. Landing on the Full Moon it relates to our goals and objectives and what we are seeking to achieve. This Full Moon can help give clarity about what needs to go. Saturn has now completed his 4 months retrograde in Aquarius and will begin moving direct again. This is great news for Aquarius as Saturn has been bringing significant challenges and responsibilities through this retrograde movement. Saturn will move forward until entering Pisces on March 29th and this period will generally be more positive, productive and optimistic. With the Lord of the day changing sign, it's a good day not to have too much on or expect too much. Definitely no important events. Sun moves to Scorpio, the natural 8th sign of the zodiac. Here the Sun illuminates what is hidden and helps us to see what we have been missing. It is a time of recovery for Sun and reinvigoration in our lives for what the Sun rules (the house themes of where Leo sits in our chart).
Wednesday, November 20th
Main Event: Sun enters Anuradha constellation
The Sun enters Saturn’s constellation of Anuradha today which is about service and helping others. It is a time where our ego (the Sun) can be put to one side and we can consider the needs and plight of others. Charity work and volunteering is very beneficial during this time and will tend to bring good fortune into our lives. These themes will continue into the next New Moon.
Thursday, November 21st
Main Event: Mars/Moon conjunction in Cancer
Mars is transiting Cancer at present and the Moon joins him for a couple of days. Mars can easily feel frustrated in this position and with Moon joining him it’s easy for those frustrated feelings of Mars to enter our psyche and mind. With awareness we can not get caught up in such things and let the transit pass. This will be a constant theme with Moon in Cancer over the coming months as Mars has an extended transit in this part of the sky due to his upcoming retrograde motion.
Saturday, November 23rd
Main Event: Kalabhairava Ashtami
Kalabhairava is an intense form of Lord Shiva who rules over time, especially moments of time. This form of Shiva is worshipped to help one be more on time and not to waste time. This form of Shiva is also specifically worshipped and prayed to in order to help with issues with the planet Rahu.
Monday, November 25th
Main Event: Moon/Ketu conjunction
Moon together with Ketu can bring confusion and doubt. A good day to put off any decisions and wait especially with it being a Monday.
Tuesday, November 26th
Main Event: Mercury turns retrograde in Scorpio
Our next Mercury retrograde begins today, this time in Scorpio. This is a great time to get a deeper understanding of what is going on in our lives around Mercury ruled themes. Analysis and study is very strong at this time, however it’s more a time to gather information rather than to act upon it. In general it’s important to take care of communication and misunderstandings. Mercury will be retrograde until December 16th. Time to act on what is discovered can be after that or when Mercury reaches Sagittarius in early January.
Wednesday, November 27th
Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of decreasing Moon
Sunday, December 1st
Main Event: New Moon in Anuradha constellation
The New Moon this month lands in Anuradha constellation. Anuradha is about service and this month is a great time to help others and deeply understand the needs of others. This month is not a time to express authority or be demanding. This also includes themes of how to help and assist oneself, how to be one’s own best helper and supporter. Often we are engaged in patterns of self-sabotage and this month is a good time to tune into these habits and reset them. Mercury’s presence further helps the understanding and identification of these tendencies. This is a kind and gentle, feminine constellation and in general will bring a supportive and helpful month.
