It's time to look at the coming months astrology transits for August 2024 and their influences. Offering our gifts and connection to others are significant themes this month. 

Sunday, August 4th  

Main Event: New Moon in Ashresha constellation

The New Moon this month lands in Ashresha constellation. Ashresha is about binding contracts and long lasting connections with others. Be aware that agreements at this time will tend to be long lasting and difficult to extricate yourself from. Asresha has a seductive quality so it's a good time to express yourself, offer your gifts and attract others into your life. 

Monday, August 5th 

Main Event: Mercury turns retrograde in Leo 

Mercury is stationary and it's good to be cautious around all Mercury related matters for a day. Mercury will be retrograde until August 29th.

Friday, August 9th 

Main Event: Nag Panchami, Moon/Ketu conjunction

This is a well known festival throughout India. Naga means Snake and Panchami is the fifth day of the moon. On this day snakes are worshipped for their protective qualities and to turn away enemies and misfortune. Moon with Ketu is not a great combination for decision making, so better to wait a day or two if you have a decision to make.  

Saturday, August 10th  

Main Event: Unproductive Planets 

The next 3 days the planets are not energetically engaged with productivity so it is a good time to take time off and have breaks. Things will shift come Tuesday 13th morning.

Friday, August 16th  

Main Event: Sun changes sign to Leo, Fasting for the 11th day increasing Moon 

Sun enters Leo for one month today. Sun in Leo is very strong and brings with it themes of leadership and illumination. How are we leading ourselves and others? This also brings a month of Sun/Saturn opposition as Saturn is transiting opposite in Aquarius. Saturn's gaze is there to check our ego and temper the self-absorption that Sun in Leo can bring. It's important to be careful in all authority situations over the next 4 weeks as Sun and Saturn can easily bring conflict. 

Tuesday, August 20th  

Main Event: Full Moon in Dhanistha, Moon with Saturn for 3 days 

Dhanistha is about exposure and showing things to others. In this case the Full Moon is favourable to the New Moon, with Dhanistha's nature of showing things to other in harmony with Asresha and the desire to attract others towards us. It's time to show the world what has been brewing within, especially over the previous fortnight. Moon with Saturn for 3 days brings an amplifying of the Sun-Saturn opposition, with Venus and Mercury also in Leo currently.

Thursday, August 22nd 

Main Event: Many planets supporting resource/money themes 

Mercury continues his retrograde motion and moves from Leo back into Cancer. This point in the sky is very much about harmony of the masculine and feminine as we are at the cusp of the Moon's sign Cancer and the Sun's sign Leo. Mercury is the planet of trying things and exploring the possibilities. It's a great time to work on that harmony within. Moon together with Rahu can create confusion and indecision on this day.  

Sunday, August 25th Main Event: Venus enters Virgo 

Venus is considered weak in Virgo where he tends to struggle. With Ketu there too it can be a time where we feel weakness around the themes of Venus - love, relationships, and what he rules in our own charts. This can be a good time for solitude and inner space before a strong wave of relating comes when Venus enters Libra next. 

Tuesday, August 27th Main Event: Krishna Ashtami 

Krishna Ashtami is the appearance day of Sri Krishna, the god of love and beauty. Krishna is worshipped to increase love and devotion. Krishna is connected to the Moon and Moon rituals are very good on this day as the Moon is in his favourite constellation, Rohini.

Wednesday, August 28th Main Event: Moon/Mars conjunction in Mrigashira constellation

Mrigashira is about searching and the Moon together with Mars here makes it an excellent day to start a journey or a quest.

Thursday, August 29th Main Event: Mercury turns Direct in Cancer

Mercury is stationary again and it's good to be cautious around all Mercury related matters for a day. 

Friday, August 30th Main Event: Fasting for the 11th day of the decreasing Moon
