Hi ,

Everything in creation is based on the polarities of male and female, how they work together and how they flow independently. This natural dialogue is expressed in the sky by the transits of the Sun and the Moon. Each month they come together at the time of New Moon and then experience independence from each other at their peak distance at the Full Moon. The energies present at these two junctions have a strong influence on what is happening in our lives. The New Moon to increasing phase is predominantly a feminine energy and is best treated as a flowing feminine time where creative possibilities abound. Whereas the Full Moon begins the decreasing masculine phase where direction, containment and focus are more suited. Today we have the Full Moon in the constellation of Anuradha. It is good to consider how Anuradha masculinity exchanges with Bharani femininity (New Moon was in Bharani) as the two polarities interact. Usually there is tension between the New Moon and Full Moon constellations, with work needing to be done to find harmony. Anuradha themes are submission, service and assistance. So Full moon here encourages us to find our masculine purpose of how to serve others and how to assist those around us. The male extends to offer while the female invites so she can receive. 'Radha' is linked to 'aradhana' - worshipful service, and 'anu' means to assist or help. She is the willing assistant. This month the New Moon was in Bharani constellation, with themes of judgement, death and destruction, followed by rebirth and creation. Anuradha seeks to utilise whereas Bharani seeks to destroy and subsequently create. So after the tension and intensity of feminine Bharani, we now have a day to meditate about how over the coming fortnight we can make use of what has been broken or removed, what has been created, what has been judged and destroyed. How can the masculine organise and utilise these ingredients that may seem broken?Anuradha has such strong service ability that although it comes as a big challenge (Saturn rules this constellation after all) there is the possibility to make progress. Today is a portal for connecting to Saturn, as it is Saturn’s birthday, his lunar day as he rules Full Moon and his Moon constellation Anuradha. Saturn is in dig bala, strongest position at Sunset, and he has strong influence between 7 and 10pm each day. It is a wonderful day to do Saturn ritual in the evening as the Full Moon rises and the Sun sets.It is also the appearance day of Kurma avatar, the tortoise incarnation, who is also connected to Saturn. Kurma is essentially an avatar connected to disciplined practice to achieve outcomes. This day and the coming fortnight is excellent for renewing our commitments to our practices, to reset and start fresh with what has perhaps dropped away due to life circumstances. This day is also the appearance of Buddha avatar of Vishnu who is connected to Mercury. So Mercury rituals and prayers are also very effective on this day. Saturn’s mantra is – aum shanaish-charaya namaha – which can be repeated 8 times.Saturn represents hard work, focus, commitment and service to others. And naturally by extension this indicates service to oneself. It is good to reflect at this time how am I serving myself properly and how am I not serving myself properly. This is not an ego-ic idea of self-serving arrogance, but rather a humble inner reflection of where I am not helping myself, where I waste my energies, where I give in to a lower part of myself instead of serving a higher aspect of myself. Saturn the great teacher is here to help us uncover all of these layers in ourselves. It’s important to be aware we have both masculine and feminine within us and the primary need is to harmonise these two within. Then we can experience healthy relationships on the outside. This dance of new moons and full moons is one of the themes we will cover extensively in the upcoming Follow the Moon course.  For more info and to book your spot click the link here.-Sadhu
