This has been brewing for a while and is now live. The course offerings are being uploaded and prepared at the moment... more news on that very soon. The newsletter is also going through a transformation as there is so much more to share than only a monthly overview. We'll be preparing more regular updates, covering astrology questions and topics that arise. You can manage your preferences around how you receive emails through the link at the bottom of this email. This time of year is generally very good for getting projects moving and developing the areas of life we are focussed upon. This is because the Sun is very strong at the moment as he transits Aries. The month of May will see a strong emphasis on Taurus themes, where our impetus to act in Aries seeks solid ground and results in the materialistic Taurus. This time of year also marks the New Year timing of the Vedic calendar where resolutions are made, intentions activated and goals set. This is a far more beneficial time for this than January-February, where the Sun is struggling through the signs of his inimical child Saturn. At the moment, the predominant theme in the sky is Mercury conjunct Rahu in Pisces. Mercury is amplifying Rahu's energy and it is a strong impetus to try new things and leap into something different. If we have stuckness in life, there can be a strong feeling to move it in any way possible. As always with Rahu there are the extremes of great potential and great delusion about that potential. This conjunction is in Revati constellation which is the energy of the shepherd and facilitator. We can easily be deluded as to our ability to care for others and think we know what they need. Mercury is there with Rahu until May 10th.

Wednesday, May 1st

Main Event: Jupiter enters Taurus

Every 12 months Jupiter changes the sign he is in. This is a very significant moment and shifts Jupiter's attention to the new sign, its themes and house topics in our charts. Jupiter is a planet of growth, increase and expansion. He tends to help as much as possible through where he is, as long as he's not heavily afflicted. Jupiter has been transiting through Aries for the last year and today he moves into Taurus. The themes of Taurus are mainly material. It is a fixed earth sign, and is concerned with material comfort, assets and money. Jupiter here will seek to grow these material areas of life. If you have Taurus rising or Taurus Moon then you will experience that growth very strongly.   Jupiter here will also likely increase the material optimism of people in general. So there is a need to exercise some caution as well. Saturn has entered the constellation of Purvabhadrapada as of April 6th He remains there until October 4th later in the year.  This is a powerful transit as this is the deepest of all of the constellations, connected in some sense to the fiery pits of hell, or the deepest darkest parts of ourselves. This can bring up anger and frustration and put a focus on what we haven't dealt with up to this point, lying deep beneath the surface. The fire element is potent in this combination and rituals with candles or fire on Saturdays with the intention to go deep within will likely have a stronger effect.

Saturday, May 4th

Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of decreasing Moon

Sunday, May 5th

Main Event: Four planet conjunction, Mars, Moon, Rahu, Mercury

There is likely a lot of confusion and pressure for a day or two as the Moon moves between the malefics Mars and Rahu and tunes into the Rahu Mercury conjunction. Best to wait for New Moon to come and take it easy for a couple of days.

Monday, May 6th

Main Event: Venus enters Bharani constellation

Venus is transiting Aries over the coming weeks and today enters his own constellation Bharani. Venus rules Bharani and his transit here increases the energy of the Bharani themes mentioned below until he moves on from here on May 16th.

Wednesday, May 8th

Main Event: New Moon in Bharani constellation

The New Moon this month lands in Bharani constellation. This constellation is about death and rebirth. With Bharani things tend to end and new things begin. If there's something in your life that you feel is ending this can be the energy that transforms it and moves it on. Bharani also holds the energy of Yamaraj, the god of death. This constellation brings judgement and justice for our deeds or misdeeds. This lunar month tends to bring a purge of that which needs to be brought before the court, be it the court of ourselves or the greater society.

Friday, May 10th

Main Event: Mercury enters Taurus

Mercury is now free of the influence of Rahu and enters Aries where he gets renewed energy and movement through the fire of Aries. This transit gives a lot of impetus to develop Mercury's house themes and natural influences of communication, collaboration and social interactions.

Saturday, May 11th

Main Event: Akshaya Tritiya, Parashuram Jayanti

Akshaya Tritiya is a special day to start any good endeavour as it is the day of the year with strongest Sun and Moon at the same time. Tritiya is the third day of the Moon, is related to Mars, and brings in Mars' energies of action, determination and courage.Parashuram is the Vishnu avatar connected to Venus. This is a good day to strengthen Venus and do Venus rituals, especially connecting to crossing over obstacles in relation to Venus themes. The essence of Parashuram is to fight for that which we love and those whom we love.

Tuesday, May 14th Main Event: Vrishabha Sankranti, Sun enters Taurus, Ganga Jayanti

Sun in Taurus brings into light the question of how we nourish ourselves, care for ourselves and find comfort in life. The next month illuminates these themes along with the house themes of Taurus in our own chart. With Sun changing sign, it's a good day to let the cosmos shift. The Ganga is the Ganges, the famous river of India that flows from the Himalayas to the Bengal delta. Ganga is known for washing away and cleansing, this is a great day to immerse oneself in water and invoke the cleansing energy of water and the Ganga.

Wednesday, May 15th Main Event: Mars/Rahu conjunction over the coming fortnight

Mars and Rahu are not a good combination in the sky as they tend to clash, create tension and conflict. Mars is the planet of war and conflict and Rahu's influence on him tends to bring a delusion where one acts first and asks questions later. Rahu is the shadow which can be dangerous when connected to Mars. Take extra care over these days and be mindful not to react to others.

Sunday, May 19th Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of Increasing Moon, Venus enters Taurus

Venus enters his own sign Taurus, increasing the desire for comfort and also the potential for stubbornness and resistance to change. This is a fixed earth sign and Venus is very happy here but can bring out stronger the negative side of Venus which is inertia and laziness. The Sun, Jupiter and Mercury transiting here around this time will help to keep things moving. Venus is close to the Sun over the coming few months and that will tend to make relationships and themes in our life ruled by Venus a bit more challenging as the typical Sun/Venus battle revolves around ego and the giving up of ego in relation with others.

Wednesday, May 22ndMain Event: Nrsimha Jayanti

Nrsimha is the Vishnu avatar connected to Mars. He is particular to obstacle removal on the spiritual path. This is an excellent day for Mars remedies and it is good for fasting to break obstacles, especially around sexuality and love relationships which relate to Venus who is the Lord of this lunar day.Mars rituals at this time are especially beneficial as Mars crosses Rahu and the eclipse point (see below).

Thursday, May 23rd Main Event: Buddha Purnima, Kurma Jayanti, Full Moon in Anuradha constellation

Buddha is the Vishnu avatar connected to Mercury. His teachings were focussed on non-violence and kindness to others. Mercury rituals are very beneficial on this day.Kurma is the Vishnu avatar connected to Saturn and has the form of a turtle. He is particular to forbearance and persistence. He supports a regulated life with gradual steps towards the end goal. As Saturn rules Full Moon, as well as the constellation Anuradha, along with it being the day of Kurma, this is an excellent day for Saturn remedies and rituals. Anuradha is the energy of service to others and assistance to others. This is a good time to consider how we help others and how to deepen our giving.

Saturday, May 25th Main Event: Mars crosses the eclipse point

This is the inflexion point of the Mars transit across Rahu as this is the degree of the recent eclipse. The eclipse energies were essentially positive, however Mars can bring up frustration and the negative aspect of this event. Planets transiting eclipse points amplify and echo those energies. Mars here can forcefully push us to act upon what came in from the eclipse which can be a great thing if we feel stuck, but can also bring conflict if that new direction is clashing with our current circumstances.

Friday, May 31st Main Event: Mercury enters Taurus

Mercury joins Venus, Jupiter and Sun in Taurus. Mercury in Taurus brings Mercury's industry and desire to try new things into the materialistic Taurus. Time to try different ways to make money, or a new diet or different ways to fulfil our material comforts. Mercury will shake up Venus here, who can enhance Taurus' stubborn side and resistance to get out of a comfort zone to try new things.
