Astro Newsletter update

Hi ,
It's time to look at the sky for the coming month of March. This month sees the beginning of the eclipse season which essentially lasts for 10 weeks - 4 weeks before the first eclipse on March 24th-25th, 2 weeks in between eclipses and 4 weeks after the second eclipse on April 8th-9th. The themes and energies in play are explained below. The Vedic New Year is coming this month as well and the Astro Planner for 2024-25 is now ready - order yours at the link at the end of this email. The Planner now comes with date list and ics calendar file so you can easily add yours to your Calendar Apps.
Monday, March 4th
Main Event: Sun enters Purvabhadrapada constellation
The coming weeks sees the Sun and Moon energies resonating through Purvabhadrapada constellation. This constellation means 'preparation for auspiciousness'. It is an energy of work being done in order for an outcome to come later. And which kind of work? Deep work. This is the deepest of all the constellations and is linked to the very depths of the cosmos and the snake-god Ananta Shesha who holds the universes on his hoods as though they were mustard seeds. So we are moving from the superficial Dhanistha into the very depths of Purvabhadrapada.
Thursday, March 7th
Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of the waning Moon - Mercury enters Pisces, Venus enters Aquarius, Mars enters Dhanistha constellation
Mercury is generally considered weak in Pisces, especially the earlier part of the sign. This transit can see us try new things that don't necessarily amount to much, especially in areas which Mercury rules in our own charts. This is enhanced by the presence of Rahu in Pisces who is always keen to delude us and waste our time. Venus joins Saturn in Aquarius and brings an element of love and compassion to our desire to serve and help others. It is time for harmony after the tension of the Sun/Saturn conjunction of the past week.Mars now transits a very strong part of the sky for him, with his strength in Capricorn and his own constellation Dhanistha. It is a good time to tap into the drive of Mars around areas of our life that he influences.
Friday, March 8th
Main Event: Shivaratri
Shivaratri is the festival day celebrating the advent of Lord Shiva. This event is celebrated throughout India with offerings, prayers and chanting.
Sunday, March 10th
Main Event: New Moon in Purvabhadrapada constellation
The New Moon this month lands in Purvabhadrapada constellation. This constellation is about drawing up things from the very depths of our soul. It compels us to go very deep within ourselves and to find what is really important to us. It can be a time where it is harder to relate to others as we are preoccupied with this internal search and discovery. It can also bring up parts of ourselves that we didn't realise were there or things we didn't expect. This constellation relates to the element of Fire, so including fire in rituals is very beneficial. The negative side of this constellation is anger and frustration at the inability to go deep.
Thursday, March 14th
Main Event: Meena Sankranti - Sun changes sign to Pisces
Sun leaves Aquarius and Saturn there to his home affairs and moves on to Pisces, which will tend to lighten things up. Sun in Pisces brings light to our wisdom and higher view of ourselves. We are now entering the better half of the solar year with the Sun in his more favoured signs. Vedic New Year is coming and it is time to look forward to what this year has in store, what plans we want to implement and what we would like to achieve.
Friday, March 15th Main Event: Mars enters Aquarius
Mars joins Saturn in Aquarius on this day and this tends to bring conflict and war themes on the table. In addition the day's energy is of Skanda, the god of war. It's important to be mindful of conflict today and in the coming weeks. Mars and Saturn combinations tend to bring escalation of wars, or the start of new wars. Mars will be here with Saturn until April 23rd.
Saturday, March 16th Main Event: Naidhan Navtara in Rohini
By the constellation system, the 7th constellation after the New Moon is the most unfavourable for the energy of the month. It is a good day not to endeavour too much as energetically it clasheswith the month's flow.
Wednesday, March 20thMain Event: Fasting for the 11th day of the increasing Moon
Monday, March 25th Main Event: Full Moon in Hasta - Lunar Eclipse - Gaura Purnima - Dol/Holi - Vedic New Year and Appearance of Chaitanya Avatar
Hasta is an energy of practicality and higher vision. It clashes with the monthly energy of Purvabhadrapada as Hasta is a higher energy coming down to this plane whereas Purvabhadrapada is about going into the depths and bringing up from underneath. This eclipse has a magical quality to it and can bring profound insights and suprises. These will be felt strongly if Ascendent, Moon or Sun are in Virgo or Pisces, or around any themes connected to a planet you have in those signs. It will be even stronger if you have these placements in Revati or Hasta constellations where the nodes are currently.
Tuesday, March 26th Main Event: Mercury enters Aries
Mercury joins Jupiter in Aries and the bright ideas that he has been dreaming up in Pisces now come to be tested as he joins his step-father Jupiter in Aries under rulership of the practical Mars. Was his bright new idea a fantasy, or can it work?
Sunday, March 31st Main Event: Venus enters Pisces
Venus enters his favourite sign Pisces to join his willing assistant Rahu. This is normally a combination of sensual excess, enjoyment and frivolity. The Sun is also there however, bringing an element of authority, rules and ego. So the party is hampered until the Sun leaves for Aries in the middle of April. This is a good combination for Venus ruled themes of life as there is both enjoyment and illumination possible.
