Astro Newsletter update

Hi ,

Eclipse season has arrived, so it's time to discuss the effects of these coming planetary alignments. The solar eclipse comes first on the 20th April followed by the lunar eclipse on the 6th May. The eclipses follow the position of the lunar nodes, North node Rahu and South node Ketu. Currently the nodes are on the axis of Aries and Libra. If you have your rising sign or Moon in Aries or Libra you can expect to be strongly affected during this eclipse season. The season tends to last 4 weeks before and after the first and last eclipse, so in this case about 10 weeks. Often the effect will continue to echo afterwards, particularly if there is a significant effect. Rahu and Ketu are currently at 11 degrees Aries and Libra respectively. Any planet that is close to this degree in your chart will be affected by these influences and then what that planet rules in your life will be affected as well. The effects of this eclipse run with the energy of Mars. It's expected to be fiery, spontaneous and dynamic. This could well be a moment where you find the dynamic energy needed to move through a blockage or challenge that has been stuck. It's also likely to be chaotic and uncertain as well and we may feel an uneasiness about the outcomes.  The other main theme here is one of force and the forcefulness for change that Mars can bring. Mars is our determination, our courage and strength to push through any difficulty. Mars also brings conflict too, and we need to be mindful not to find ourselves in conflict with the persons or themes associated with the House where Aries is in our charts. The best way to approach these eclipses is to feel the inevitability of the changes that they are bringing and rather than fight the fiery Mars about it, rather be flexible and let Mars drive things naturally to their next stage. Aries rising or Moon will feel great personal tranformation and they need space to go through that. Libra rising or Moon can feel that this is happening with spouse and need to be mindful about conflict with them during this time. This week's main theme is the dialogue between Jupiter and Mercury. Mercury has joined Jupiter in Jupiter's sign Pisces and Mercury's constellation Revati, which overlap in the sky at the end of Pisces. Revati is about resources and facilitation and the energy here looks to support the dreams and hopes of Pisces. Jupiter represents the old ways of doing things and Mercury is the young upstart who has a smarter way to approach everything. In Vedic history Jupiter is the step-father of Mercury who is born from an affair between the Moon and Jupiter's wife. Jupiter in his benevolence agrees to shelter the boy, but there is a general feeling of uneasiness between them due to this history. In this combination both sides need to give a bit to find a place to meet in the middle. Mercury has to find a way to be more respectful and Jupiter needs to appreciate the innovation of the new ideas. Mars enters into Ardra and here Mars will likely express his work ethic into removal and getting rid of things. He is here for 3 weeks giving plenty of time over the eclipse period to get rid of the old to make space for the new. This is a strong time of transformation with new beginnings also activated for the 3 weeks after solar eclipse from April 21st when Mars enters Purnavasu constellation.

Saturday, April 1st

Main Event: Mercury enters Aries and joins Rahu, Sun enters Revati, Dharma energy prevails for 2 days

Mercury moves to Aries and Aswini constellation joining Rahu there. This energises Mercury, makes him more fiery and ambitious and his mischievous side comes out as well. This is a great time for social interaction, playfulness and transforming connections with others. Mercury ruled themes of life will find an element of spontaneity and luck during this transit. Sun joins Jupiter in Revati which inspires us to the highest vision possible for our goals and dreams. Sun in Revati invites us to lead with nobility and see that everyone around us is getting what they need from us. It's important to see that we are giving that to ourselves as well. Most of the planets are in the energy of duty over this weekend, so it is a great time to follow through on promises, commitments and meet others in a place of integrity.

Sunday, April 2nd Main Event: Fasting on 11th day of the waxing Moon

Tuesday, April 4th

Main Event: Venus enters Kritika constellation

Venus is conflicted in Kritika, a planet of love in a constellation of war. This inspires us into fighting for what we love or believe in, or for those less advantaged than ourselves. This combination can also bring a lot of passion to our cause where emotion and weapons unite. It's also potentially a good time to cut relations with loved ones, or those who we have to love and leave. Kritika is a cutting energy and it can help in this case.

Thursday, April 6th

Main Event: Full Moon in Hasta constellation

The Moon rules Hasta, the practical constellation signified by hands. Full Moon here inspires us to connect to the Sun god Savitri and chant Gayatri mantra long and loud on the full moon night. Meditations on this day are great for feeling inspired about how to act, implement or ground what we are doing. This part of the sky encourages us into a service minded approach with our endeavours which is aligned to the earthy Virgo where the Moon sits. We are in the month of spontaneity, so this Full Moon reminds us to find a way to ground the spontaneous, to bring it to Earth and experience it in our day to day existence.
