It's time to look again at the coming fortnight's movements of the planets in the sky.

Thursday, May 19th  

Main Event: Sun enters Taurus, Mars enters Pisces

Mars has now entered into Pisces and he joins Venus and Jupiter there. This is very good for Mars because now he's outside of the gaze of Saturn which he's been working through over the last couple of months. Pisces isn't the strongest positioning for him because it is a water sign but he's looking forward to reaching Aries in the near future. Sun and Taurus for the next month brings a focus on our material goals because Taurus is a sign of comfort and the Sun is a planet related to goals and achievement so this time of the year is the time where material plans are strongest and when we want to identify what it is we're trying to achieve materially, what those results can be and how we can set a plan to move towards them. 

Sunday, May 22nd  

Main Event: Mars enters Uttara Bhadrapada constellation, Mars/Jupiter conjunction

Mars continues his struggle in the Bhadrapada constellations, now moving into Uttara Bhadrapada. This constellation is about finding the deeper meaning to things and is inherently spiritual in nature in that it compels us to find the spirituality in material things, and the material practicality in our spirituality. This bridge is something that Mars is not so equipped to achieve as Mars is more concerned with the material, measurable and results oriented world. He will be greatly helped here by Jupiter and the conjunction with Jupiter as Jupiter can reveal those spiritual connections. The combination of these two planets in this position gives the meeting point of the archetypical General of the army Jupiter with the archetypical soldier of the army Mars. When the soldiers and General are united then great things can be achieved. But often the soldier disturbs the General and rebellion can ensue. Venus will try to smooth things between them, and overall it should be a positive and productive transit that encompasses the themes of material and spiritual balance in our individual lives. 

Monday, May 23rd  

Main Event: Moon/Saturn conjunction, most planets are bunched in four signs

Over the coming weeks most of the planets are bunched in four signs in the sky between Saturn in Aquarius and Sun in Taurus. When planets are very close together they tend to battle with each other and it increases the tension in the energies that are playing. So it's important to stay calm and not allow this added increase in tension to affect us too much. This combination is not as intense as what we saw in February with multiple planets conjunct with Saturn and Mars, but I expect that we will feel something. We are waiting for the Sun to get to Gemini in mid-June for things to be calmer in the sky.

Tuesday, May 24th Main Event: Venus to Aries

Venus in Aries brings Venus the planet of loving affairs and relationship into the sign of Aries which is dynamic and catalysing and opportunistic. So now we have the fire of Aries bringing new possibilities into all the themes of Venus. There is the possibility to meet new people have a renewed connection with others and in general transform the loving areas of our lives. Venus is quite strong here because he's carrying that strength over from Pisces which is the most happy part of the sky for him. So Venus is very productive in Aries and if we are open to it we are likely to see opportunities for Venus themes to be developed. 

Thursday May 26th

Main Event: Fasting for Ekadasi, Sun to Rohini

Sun in Rohini is a combination promoting material comfort and having that as a central goal and central theme. So the sun will be here for two weeks and it's an excellent time to beautify things in your life, add more comfort and generally increase your material affairs. It's a good time for increased endeavour for income as well as increased spending on comfort and leisure and making your life more enjoyable.  

Friday, May 27th

Main Event:  Moon, Venus and Rahu conjunction

The next couple of days we have Moon, Venus and Rahu altogether in Aries. This combination is very sensual and very strongly promoting potential for affairs, love pursuits and connections with others combined with a heightened sense of lust and ambition and an increase in passion. We have to remember that the Sun is in Taurus currently which promotes sensuality and material comfort. It's important to be aware of all of these themes being at a heightened state over Friday and Saturday - for those 2 1/2 days while the moon is an Aries together with Venus and Rahu. This combination makes it easy to jump into things which may seem great but could well be too good to be true. So it's a good time to be a little bit cautious, or at least aware of these forces at play. 

Monday, May 30th 

Main Event:  New moon in Rohini constellation in Taurus

Rohini is the constellation of fertility and arousal. It is feminine, watery and passionate. New Moon here means the month ahead will be filled with us investigating our passions, what arouses us and what inspires us. It is a great time to start new endeavours that are closer to what we really desire in life. Nourishment is a big theme in this constellation as it isn't possible for anything to grow in a healthy way without proper nourishment. So it is a month to consider how we nourish things, and how we can nourish that which arouses and inspires us in better ways.
