Astro Newsletter update

Hi ,

The coming fortnight sees 3 planets changing direction, so it’s a good time to expect internal changes and transformations while on the outside lots of things either slow down to a standstill or come to an equilibrium point, especially all things ruled by Saturn and Jupiter. While they are both moving slowly the tension between them decreases and thereby the energies in relation to them lessen, both positive and negative. The New Moon on Oct 6th in Hasta constellation in Virgo sets a tone of deep meditation an inner connection which can grow and expand through the waxing fortnight to follow. It’s a great time to be of service to others with several planets in the natural 6th sign of the zodiac.

Oct 10 - Sa stationary

Saturn has been slowly grinding us all through his retrograde motion since May 22 - almost 5 months ago. Now with his reverse motion almost complete, all the issues that he has been dragging up will be clear to see and as he turns around we will be tasked with dealing with them. Saturn’s slow movement means that it takes a good week for him to begin to move forward with any speed. This day is a wonderful day to acknowledge Saturn and his capacity to challenge us and bring growth to us by compelling us to focus on that which hurts, that which is difficult and those places we need to grow.

Oct 16 Su - Li

Sankranti lands on the 16th this month with Sun changing sign from Virgo into Libra. Sun is weak in Libra as he struggles with the energies of duality, working with others and compromises that are necessary in Libra. He cannot assert his ego in this position. This means it is a great time for mediation, settling of conflicts and hearing other’s points of view with a view to harmony.

Oct 17 Ju stationary

Jupiter completes his final foray into Capricorn today for another 12 years as he finishes his retrograde motion and turns forwards (direct). He has 6 weeks of forward motion until Nov 19 when he will leave Capricorn and move to Aquarius. Capricorn is an unhappy place for Jupiter and all the more so with Saturn there currently. This completion of retrograde is the end of Jupiter being tied to Saturn and under his contraction. From this day forward, Jupiter will feel more and more free to expand and help us all as the weeks go by, until he reaches ultimate freedom from Saturn’s influence in April 2022 when he will move into Pisces, his own sign, and a place of relief for him after 2.5 long years of struggle.

Oct 18 Me stationary

Mercury is still retrograde and will turn around on the 18th. Mercury’s turning points are much quicker than the slower planets and it is only necessary to be careful on the day of turning and a day before and after. Mercury’s influence here will be felt more strongly by some than others, and this relates to what Mercury rules in the chart and how influential Mercury is in one’s life, especially at the moment (ie. if he rules a major or minor period for you currently).

Oct 20 Ma - Li, Full Moon

Full Moon this month is on the 20th with the Moon in Aswini constellation at the beginning of Aries. This placement is one of great prospect for the upcoming weeks as Aswini is inherently lucky, dynamic and generally helpful to all. It can bring impulsive action as the headless Ketu rules the constellation, so it’s important to see if you already have that kind of tendency, and if so be a bit aware of that. If not, you will probably feel the impetus to jump into a new direction. This effect also ties to your birth Moon constellation and the ruler of it. If your birth moon constellation is ruled by Moon, Rahu or Saturn you will tend to have insight around your obstacles and challenges and feel an impetus to conquer them, especially with birth moon in Capricorn, Aquarius or Pisces. This full moon is very Mars influenced with Moon in Aries having a strong aspect from Mars in Virgo. Mars tends to bring a lot of fire to fight for one’s duty, necessity or inspiration. Mars is thriving in the sign of service, Virgo, and so our attention will naturally flow to how we can help others.
