New Beginnings in June-July

Each year in June, the new moon brings energies of new beginnings and starting fresh things. It lands around the time of solstice which adds to these themes. This year the New Moon carries themes of deleting what is in the way.

So it’s time to ask the question, what is holding me back and what do I need to do to get out of the way? Or you can say, how do I need to get out of my own way?

It can seem chaotic when stepping into change and yet somehow you need to embrace the chaos, see the truth from the lies, and proceed. Perhaps you’ve felt a new direction coming or a new project that wants your attention. Or what you’re doing has become a bit stale or boring.

The coming week is a portal of rejuvenation and it will echo through the month of July.

Mars and Saturn have entered opposition (seen with current war themes) which will last for the next 1-2 months. July brings their focus to Virgo, where both planets push you to get uncomfortable to share your gifts with the world or to be the change you want to see in the world. Perhaps the world is ready, perhaps not.. but it is time.

The New Moon is in the constellation Ardra and its energies are stormy and emotional with crying, tears and a challenge to your attachments which Ardra tends to rip away while not caring due to Rahu’s rulership.

It also brings an overactive wind or air element which can destabilise things. It’s been windy where I am the last few days, and I expect the winds of change to keep blowing with stormy Ardra.

So it’s a good time for inner ritual, taking space and opening to let go.

This week also marks a big festival in India on the East coast in Puri, Orissa, where Jagannath, the lord of the universe, rides his chariot. This is an ancient festival which in essence symbolises the stepping away from fear and distance to the divine, and in its place to embrace love for the divine and a closer connection with your higher path.

As Jagannath rides his chariot you are also encouraged to board your chariot and ride it towards your destination. The chariot symbolises the vessel(s) that you utilise to move forward in life and can indicate your body, your rituals and practices, and your methodology.

This is a wonderful time to refresh these things, reinvigorate the body, rejuvenate the daily practices and reset that which has stagnated.

Currently Jupiter is conjunct the Sun and is eclipsed, so is hiding behind the Sun’s rays for the coming days. This can cause uncertainty around purpose, higher path and divine connection. This will pass next week though, and there will be a great window over subsequent weeks to explore this, with a peak coming into the next Full Moon in two weeks time.

Jupiter is aspecting Sagittarius bringing constant reminders to find your higher path and this transit continues for most of the next year. And where to find it? Jupiter is encouraging you to find your companions on the path, the like-minded souls with whom you are journeying side by side.

Normally stepping into new directions is very well supported on the week of this New Moon every year, however this year there is a Kalamrita Yoga in effect for this week. The yoga brings slight delay and a need to be patient, with better timings to launch into new things coming around the Full Moon this month instead.

So yes, movement forward is there, but with a bit of patience…

I’m available for readings at the moment, particularly with a view to the current themes of renewal as well as with an eye on the next eclipse season which begins in a month or so and is the first of three eclipses that will touch the Leo-Aquarius axis. So those with Ascendent, Moon or Sun on that axis will be feeling the shadow energies strongly very soon.

And one more thing… as these shifting energies land, I’m feeling this influence as much as anyone.

And what is happening? Well some of you know, but most not yet…

I’m going to be a father later this year for the first time.

Fortunately the transits look good around the expected time, and the excitement is building constantly.

I think the current transits really resonate with the idea of how to act as role models for others in the midst of transformation. Often the hardest role to take on is the letting go role and putting in the past that which is not working or doesn’t serve. Or is part of the last chapter of your life but not this one coming. Which is exactly what Ardra is coming to help with.
