First Eclipse Season for 2026

Eclipse season is here. And this one is especially significant

Today we delve into the eclipses along with the themes and flavour of the next month's transits...

So there are two eclipses coming up -
Solar Eclipse on the New Moon on 17th February
Lunar Eclipse on the Full Moon on 3rd March

Let's start with the Solar Eclipse. The New Moon Solar eclipse will land in Dhanistha constellation.

Solar Eclipses are about endings and new beginnings.

The key signature of Dhanistha is revelation. Dhanistha wants to expose and express. So an eclipse on this point of the sky has a big message.

So what is the message here?

Well Dhanistha is partly in Capricorn and partly in Aquarius. This transit lands on the Aquarius side.
With Aquarius the message is of revolution and expressing alternate options.

The two key planets of this eclipse are Mars and Mercury. Mars rules Dhanistha and through this constellation Mars can express his frustrations.
Mars is a planet that wants to move things along and prove himself. When that is restricted, his natural tendency is frustration.

Mercury is a pragmatist, as well as a planet that is keen to try new things. So Mercury's influence here is to seek out another way.

With Mars and Mercury, there is a strong force to make changes to what hasn't worked.

Eclipse energies tend to echo through the following 4-6 months after the eclipse happens. And Saturn's involvement in the eclipse can slow down the outcome of the new direction that you try.

So it's important to balance patience with the impetus to act.

Dhanistha as an expressive energy is also going to encourage you to speak up where perhaps you haven't. This can become explosive at times with the influence of Mars, so it's good to be aware of that. Sometimes Mars' influence can't be controlled and you may need to apologise after the event...

Dhanistha also relates to wealth and success. So it's an eclipse that brings into question how you pursue those themes. This is particularly in relation to Self Image as well. So how you are seen and then how you succeed based upon that. So perhaps it's time for a revolution of self image.

The Lunar Eclipse on 3rd March arrives in Purva Phalguni.

This is an interesting complement to the Solar Eclipse. Purva Phalguni is about structure. It is a masculine constellation relecting status quo. An eclipse here is also an indicator of revolution. With Ketu in Leo currently, there can also be stagnancy and blindness in power structures.

Lunar Eclipses happen on Full Moons which tend to energetically reveal completions.

So this eclipse will compel you to complete something structural. That structure is likely more an internal thing related to your personal beliefs and values and how you practice them in your daily life.

Purva Phalguni is in Leo, and Leo is about leadership and power. It's also strongly linked to partnerships and marriages, so the power dynamics of those are also in question at this time.

Thursday, February 12th 

Main Event: Mercury/Rahu conjunction

An intensity comes here where the desire to try things and communicate meets the chaotic energy of Rahu. It can lead to excessive thinking, anxiety, over-calculating and overdoing things.

Friday, February 13th 

Main Event: Fasting on 11th day waning Moon,
Sun enters Aquarius

Sun in Aquarius is where the King has wandered far from his throne and now has to harmonise with the people in their arena. This is a great month to explore the greater good and how you can help the greater good. It's also a great time to examine and break down pillars of ego. Rahu's presence here offers an outlet of brilliance where you can put ego aside and focus on doing great things.

Tuesday, February 17th 

Main Event: Solar Eclipse, New Moon in Dhanistha, Venus/Rahu conjunction

Venus conjunct Rahu brings a need to be careful in romantic relationships. This combines with the ecipse energies mentioned above.

Typically the fortnight between eclipses is not a good time to start anything significant. It's better to journal and notice what is revealed by the shadow of the lunar nodes and prepare to act upon it in March once this fortnight is completed.

Tuesday, February 24th 

Main Event: Mars enter Aquarius

Enter Mars to join Sun, Mercury, Venus and Rahu in Aquarius. Mars crossing the eclipse point over the coming 2 weeks amplifies the push for change and acting upon any frustration. Essentially anything stuck in relation to the eclipse is something that Mars will focus upon and agitate for it to move.
Take care on this day as Mars rules Tuesday and is changing sign on this day.

Thursday, February 26th  

Main Event: Mercury turns retrograde

If you thought there was enough going on already, now we have Mercury turning retrograde to have another try at a new way forward if it hasn't come about already. Mercury will likely keep seeking out ways forward throughout this retrograde for the coming 3 weeks.

Friday, February 27th  

Main Event: Mercury/Venus conjunction, Sun/Rahu conjunction

This is a trigger point for challenges in communication and misunderstandings. Definitely consider an early weekend and nothing too important on this day.
Moon is in Cancer over the next few days also adding to everyone's sensitivity.

Saturday, February 28th  

Main Event: Fasting on 11th day of waning Moon

Monday, March 2nd  

Main Event: Venus enters Pisces

Venus moves to Pisces and exaltation which will help soften the effect of the eclipse tomorrow. Venus and Saturn combine here to bring a balancing force to relationship area of life and this transit will help resolutions to conflict and tension that may have come up over these last few weeks.

Tuesday, March 3rd  

Main Event: Lunar Eclipse, Full Moon in Purva Phalguni

This Full Moon really helps to move along the themes that are present in the sky. The main idea here is to dig deep into your life structure, what is working and what isn't. It also asks you to consider what new structure needs to be adopted in alignment to where you are heading.
