Astrology Transits coming up for April
This week we are well into the wave of the Solar Eclipse that lands on the weekend.
The key planet around this current eclipse is Mercury and Mercury’s functional state in the sign of Pisces. In the last newsletter I shared that Mars was very involved but there was a miscalculation in the data source and it’s actually Mercury that plays the key role. Which I think is excellent news, as we are not looking so much at doing things by force as looking at doing them by ingenuity.
Mercury in Pisces is considered debilitated and generally struggling. But the question is, which kind of struggle is going on here and what is happening.
Debilitation isn’t actually a bad thing in a chart. It is often a very good thing. But what it indicates is that there is a challenge. And then the outcome depends upon how willing you are to face the challenge.
Mercury’s debilitation indicates a need to try something different. To set a new course or path to succeed.
In this sense it is a very positive moment with these eclipses as they are likely to show us that the way we have been doing certain things needs to change. And that there is no turning back.
Probably you are aware of certains things in your life that can’t continue to be the way they have been. And the feeling now is that change is inevitable.
So Mercury is helping us to explore and understand a different option. A different way of moving forward.
Solar Eclipses land on New Moons and the New Moon energies are associated with New Beginnings. So we can expect a fresh start in a new direction with the corresponding feelings of hope and new prospect. And that is likely in the house themes related to Pisces in your own chart.
Mercury is always looking to keep us in a state of anticipation that something good is coming. Sometimes Mercury can be naive. But we can’t lose our curiosity and innocence simply through judging the naive. We need balance.
And eclipses are excellent for balance. Because they push us off our bike. And test our ability to re-balance.
In addition to this the overarching theme of the coming weeks is Saturn’s movement into Pisces and his face-off with Rahu who is moving retrograde towards him. They are exactly together on April 14th.
Here is a summary of the dates coming up in April. There are so many interesting cosmic events and it is a great month to tune into the sky.
If you’d like a deeper tool to follow the cycles of the cosmos in relation to your own life, my Astro Planner is available for 2025-26, giving you day to day planning tools and more detail about cosmic events. More information at the link at the bottom of this email.

Saturday, March 29th
Main Event: Solar Eclipse, 6 planet conjunction, Saturn enters Pisces, New Moon in Uttarabhadrapada constellation
A whole book could probably be written bout this day. It’s quite amazing what is happening in the sky at this time.
There is a Solar Eclipse with strong Mercury themes of starting fresh and trying a new path. Sun is with Rahu showing that it’s time to question purpose and alignment. Mercury and Venus are both retrograde giving pause to our plans and commitments.
And Saturn is coming to meet everyone as he enters Pisces where all of these planets are. This also happens in Saturn’s constellation Uttarabhadrapada which is generally very auspicious and beneficial.
So what does this conjunction tell us? It is saying, ‘it is time’. Time to make whatever change needs to be made to step towards your highest path and potential. Uttara means highest, and bhadra means fortune. So what is the highest fortune for you? What is it that you have always wanted to achieve but have avoided, sabotaged, not believed, held back, hidden, etc.
Pisces is about dreaming. And to enter the dream something has to be given up. And that is shown by Ketu. Ketu sits in Virgo, which is related to our day to day commitments. Our day to day problem solving.
Ketu is in Uttara Phalguni, which is not an easy combination. Uttara Phalguni is about abundance, and Ketu is about dissolving. So there is an energetic dissonance. But what is really in question here is what is the abundance in your life. What do you have an abundance of?
Because we can have an abundance of blockages, problems, small issues, worries, and concerns which can take away a lot of energy that could otherwise be used to fly like a grand eagle to have the 30000 foot view, and see the bigger picture so we can act upon it. So this weekend I encourage you all to pause for a moment and reflect upon higher purpose and alignment, and make time for that. Perhaps the ‘busy’ness of daily chores waits for a moment so that you can explore these themes within.
Thursday, April 3rd
Main Event: Mars enters Cancer
Mars has been dancing backwards and forwards between Gemini and Cancer for some months now. It’s time for his last move through Cancer.
Mars struggles in this sign and this can indicate a lack of drive and enthusiasm. It can also bring frustration. So it’s a good time to be aware of this and if things aren’t moving forward as you would expect, to adjust accordingly.
Friday, April 4th
Main Event: Many planets in 4th pada, until 11th April
And as Mars moves to Cancer we have a whole week where the planets are all feeling like a holiday. This is a good week to take time out and rest. After all the planets are doing that themselves. This tends to indicate that mid April will potentially be slow going while things transition into a much more productive late April and May.
Sunday, April 6th
Main Event: Rama Navami - Appearance anniversary of Ramachandra Avatar
Rama was an ancient King of Vedic culture who appeared with his consort Sita, brother Lakshman and servant Hanuman. Rama is connected to the Sun, so this is a great day for Sun rituals. Rama is connected to dharma and his worship assists us to act in our true nature and in harmony with everything and everyone. It is especially fortunate that the festival lands on a Sunday this year.
Monday, April 7th
Main Event: Saturn/Venus conjunction, Mercury turns Direct in Pisces
Saturn meets his friend Venus here and this brings a combination of hard work to the themes of commitment, especially in relationship areas. This can present difficulties as the hope of Venus is that everything would automatically be smooth. But Saturn lifts back the veil and shows what really needs to be done.
Mercury will now turn direct and quickly move away from Saturn. Now it is time to act upon the ingenuity that Mercury came forward with through the eclipse last week.
Tuesday, April 8th
Main Event: Fasting for the 11th day of the increasing Moon
Sunday, April 13th
Main Event: Hanuman Jayanti - Appearance anniversary of Hanuman Avatar, Full Moon in Chitra constellation
Hanuman, servant of Rama appeared on this day. Hanuman is very helpful with Saturn issues and this is a great day to invoke his assistance to cross the challenges of Saturn. Chitra is about refinement and beauty and on the Full Moon brings the question, Am I completing my projects in life in the most refined or beautiful way?
It can also ask us about how well engineered our projects are as Chitra relates the Tvastri, an engineer amongst the gods. Chitra questions how well things are put together and it is a good moment to consider how our projects and endeavours could be better organised.
Monday, April 14th
Main Event: Sun enters Aries, Saturn/Rahu conjunction
Sun in Aries means that it’s time for our light to shine. It’s time to stand in your purpose and to illuminate it. If the Sun is weak or struggling in your chart then it gets a good boost in this loaction. It is also coinciding with the beginning of the New Year in Eastern culture, although there are several different New Year’s followed between February and April. In this sense we can say that from April they have all landed and now we can move on with the year ahead.
When Saturn meets Rahu it is time to do our work differently. Rahu gives new perspectives on how to act and Saturn relates to our work and our efforts. It’s possible to see a whole different way to work in this transit and it’s good to be on the lookout for it.
Saturday, April 19th
Main Event: Saturn crosses the eclipse point from March
If there was something you’re still holding on to from the Lunar Eclipse a fortnight back, this is the moment of no turning back. Saturn steps in with the inevitability of completion and removal, perhaps also on the subtle mental and emotional levels which are tied to the Lunar energy.
Thursday, April 24th
Main Event: Fasting for 11th day of increasing Moon, Venus enters Aries
A good day to pause as Venus transitions. Venus enters Aries where he gets energised to do more about what he rules - love and relationships. Now is a good time to act upon what has revealed in relationships over the eclipse season if you have yet to take that step.
Monday, April 28th
Main Event: New Moon in Bharani constellation
Bharani constellation is connected to Yamaraj and has themes of birth and death, creation and destruction. The energy this month will be of endings and new beginnings. There is often a challenge or catharsis at these times as well as a feeling of helplessness that something may be finishing and there's nothing to do but to let it pass. Bharani also encourages us to create and to take responsibility.
Bharani invites us to use the structure within which we find ourselves to navigate life effectively. There is in essence a realism and the owning of our own mortality and conditions that is expected when working with this constellation.
Wednesday, April 30th
Main Event: Akshaya Tritiya, Parashuram Jayanti
Akshaya Tritiya is a special day to start any good endeavour as it is the day of the year with strongest Sun and Moon at the same time. It carries also the energies of Mars to help achieve the outcomes that are intended.
Parashuram is the Vishnu avatar connected to Venus. This is a good day to strengthen Venus and do Venus rituals, especially connected to crossing over obstacles in relation to Venus themes.
So that’s the journey of April which will be a real marker for the rest of the year ahead. My next wave of courses on applying and learning astrology have begun although there has been a small delay with everything that has landed through these eclipses. My latest offering is open until late next week and you can find all the details at the link here.
